Dealing With Damp
Do You Need A Report?
If you think you have a damp problem, we can provide a full Damp and Timber Report. This includes a thorough assessment of any problems, a recommended solution, and a quote.
KC Renovation Treatments regularly provides Damp and Timber Reports for local estate agents, surveyors and private clients.

Do You Need Damp Treatment?
If a Damp and Timber Report identifies damp, we’ll fully eliminate the problem.
The solution will vary case by case. Here are some of the common services we offer to help protect homes.
Damp Proof Course (DPC) – For Walls
A damp proof course is a horizontal barrier fitted inside a wall. It helps stop moisture rising through the wall by capillary action (otherwise known as rising damp).
Our damp proof courses are installed using a highly effective injection cream. This is:
- odour and solvent free
- a fast, clean method
- low hazard.
Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) – For Floors
This does a similar job as a damp proof course, but is installed in a solid floor.
We use both liquid damp proof membranes and solid membranes. Each offers an effective guard against damp.
We’ll assess your needs before recommending one or the other of these options.
Tanking – For Below Ground Level
Tanking is an effective option to prevent water penetration, in those properties where external ground level is higher than the internal ground level (for instance, in basements).
This method uses a special cement mix that is applied to the wall to form a waterproof barrier.
Air Vents – For Condensation
If your report suggests a condensation problem, we’ll offer advice on heating and ventilation and install air vents as necessary.
Preparation, Finishing Up – A Complete Job
There’s no escaping the fact that some of these jobs involve a fair amount of preparation.
As well as carrying out the damp proofing work, KC Renovation Treatments can arrange all the preparatory work for damp proof courses, including removing carpets, floor coverings, timber skirting and internal plaster.
We can also replace all fittings and replaster walls.
